Light in gravity

-  2210  -  There is a star that is looping around the blackhole at the center of our galaxy.  Theory of Relativity tells us that light would loose energy leaving a gravity well and it would gain energy entering the gravity well.  This energy difference shows up in the change in wavelength of the light.  Einstein’s math is tested again.

-
-  There is a star that is looping around the blackhole at the center of our galaxy.  This star, maybe even a planetary system, is in an elliptical orbit that speeds up as it approaches the apex closest to the blackhole then slows down as it loops past and recedes away from the blackhole.
-
-  Tracking this star over the past year has again proven Einstein’s calculations in his Theory of Relativity.  His math tells us that light would loose energy leaving a gravity well and it would gain energy entering the gravity well.  This energy difference shows up in the change in wavelength of the light.
-
-  During the flyby the light responded exactly as Einstein’s equations predicted.  To accomplish this measurement four telescopes widely separated on the mountain in Chile were combined together as an interferometer.  Light from each telescope is combined together in data processing that in effect creates a very large telescope.
-
-  The effective diameter of the larger telescope is 400 feet.  This set of four telescopes tracked the star known as S2 during its closest approach to the blackhole.  S2 does this swing by every 16 years.  This year it is coming the closest in its orbit to the blackhole on May 19, 2018.
-
-  Along with tracking the orbit a spectrograph was used to record the light spectrum from our line of sight. The spectrum of the light changed as the orbital velocity of the star changed.  Precise calculations were made of the wavelength due to the velocity change.    Then the affect of the extreme gravity caused the light to loose additional energy and shift the light spectrum another 5% more than velocity alone would have.
-
-  As the bright blue star approached the loop its color became more and more orange then as it passed by the apex it returned to bright blue color again.  The light was loosing energy, became redder,  as it pulled away from the massive gravity that the blackhole created.   The math said it would do that.
-
-  It is so great when observations match predictions.  Science is happy.  When observations do not match predictions science is happy, there is more to learn.

-
-  2182  -  Light is traveling energy.  In order to make the speed of light constant space had to get bigger and time had to get slower.  A photon traveling at the speed of light experiences all of space with no time at all.

-  The speed of light times itself equals energy.  E  =  c^2 .

-  Speed of light times itself  * ( the magnetic constant + the electric charge constant)  =  1
